About the Meat Institute

The Meat Institute supports the businesses processing meat and poultry, and their supplier partners, that sustainably nourish families around the world. It is the largest trade association representing processors of beef, pork, lamb, veal and poultry.

 

Meat Institute members include:

  • Packers and Processors:  
    More than 350 companies, of all sizes throughout North American operate more than 800 USDA inspected plants and account for more than 95 percent of United States output of meat and poultry products;
  • Suppliers:  
    Companies who supply goods, equipment, and services to animal protein packers and/or processors;
  • Allied:  
    Distributers, retail sales, and food service operations.
